摘要

Abstract

Based on the hypothesis that the incoming torpedo and the attacked moving vessel are postulated to be on the intercept course, the attacked moving vessel immediately commences a maneuver to a known second velocity vector different from its first velocity vector after the first bearing to the incoming torpedo is observed by the attacked moving vessel using passive sonar, then, the second passive bearing is observed, and by using the virtual bearing to the incoming torpedo which is equal to the first bearing in value, the incoming torpedo range will be determined. When the incoming torpedo is on an actual intercept course, the determined range is accurate.
