Value of APACHE Ⅱ in prognosis evaluation of patients with severe pulmonary tuberculosis combined with COPD receiving mechanical ventilation

Abstract
Objective To study the value of applying acute pathophysiology and APACHE Ⅱ to the prognosis evaluation of patients with severe pulmonary tuberculosis combined with COPD and receiving the mechanical ventilation. Methods A retrospective analysis was made in the clinical data of 189 patients with severe pulmonary tuberculosis combined with COPD and receiving the mechanical ventilation in ICU of our hospital from January 2009 to December 2011. Research was carried out on the correlation between the APACHE Ⅱ scores of these cases 24 h within the admission in ICU and their prognosis. Results Totally 189 patients were involved. The average APACHE Ⅱ score was 18. 8 points. Along with the increase of the APACHE score, the patients' actual case fatality and expected mortality gradually increased. Conclusion APACHE Ⅱ score can be used in the prognosis evaluation of patients with severe pulmonary tuberculosis combined with COPD and receiving the mechanical ventilation. It has guiding significance for the clinical treatment.关键词
