Effect of Direct Moxibustion on mRNA Expression of Matrix Metalloproteinases-2,9 in Artherosclerosis Plaques of Rabbits

Abstract
Object: To observe the effect of direct moxibustion to mRNA expression of matrix metaLLoproteinases-2,9 (MMP-2, MMP-9) in artherosclerosis (AS) plaques of rabbits, to explore the effect of direct moxibustion to the stability of artherosclerosis plaques of rabbits. Method: 60 New Zealand rabbits were randomly allocated to blank, model, direct moxibustion, western medicine groups. 15 cases in each group. Expect blank group,the other groups were feeded by high-fat diet. The mRNA expression of MMP-2, MMP-9 in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits were detected by the method of in situ hybridization . Result: compared with model group, the expression of MMP-9 in direct moxibustion group and wesern medicine group had statistical significance( P < 0.05, P < 0.01) ; the expression of MMP-2 in wesern medicine group had statistical significance(P < 0.01); The expressions of MMP-2 in direct moxibustion group had not statistical significance(P > 0.05). Conclusion: direct moxibustion can reduce MMP-9 expression in the atherosclerotic rabbit.关键词
