Insulin signaling and atherosclerosis
摘要
Abstract
Atherosclerotic vascular lesion is one of the most important causes for disability and mortality in diabetic patients. Eventually, the majority of patients with diabetes die from complications related to atherosclerosis. Lack of insulin secretion and insulin resistance are the main pathogenesis for Type 2 diabetes. Insulin receptor is widely expressed in various organs and tissues. Activation of the insulin signaling plays a key role in maintaining the normal physiological function of cells.关键词
