Experimental study on resistance characteristics of two-phase flow inside narrow rectangular channel in rolling motion

Abstract
Rolling motion, as a typical ocean condition, has an important influence on the gas and liquid two-phase flow resistance in rectangular channels. Flow resistance characteristics of air-water flow in vertical narrow rectangular channel were investigated under rolling motion and atmospheric conditions, aiming to clarify the effect of rolling motion on two-phase flow. The experiment is carried out under normal temperature and pressure, and the test channel has a cross section of 40 mm x 1. 6 mm and the rolling periods and angles are 8s, 12s, 16s, and 10°, 15°, 30°, respectively. The experimental results show that the drop of the instantaneous frictional pressure changes periodically under rolling conditions. The smaller the rolling period, the larger the rolling amplitude, i. e. the more intense the rolling motion, the larger the fluctuation amplitude of the friction pressure drop. The fluctuation scope of the friction pressure drop increases following the increase of the air content, and decreases following the increase of flowing speed.关键词
