Abstract

On the basis of single-factor experiments, Box - Behnken central composite design involving four variables at three levels was utilized to set up a quadratic polynomial regression equation for astragalus polysaccharide extraction yield as function of extraction temperature, time, material/liquid ratio, times and the pairwise interactive effects of the above four variables on their function were investigated by response surface analysis. The optimum conditions for extracting astragalus polysaccharide from astragalus were found to be; the optimum extraction extraction of APS was that extraction temperature 95 ℃ , extraction time 156 min, the liquid/material ratio 29 mL/g, extraction cycles 4. Under this condition, the APS yield of 13.20%. This experimental method was reliable because it was very close to the predicted value.
