Preparation, Mechanism and Gas Sensor Properties of Cu2O/MWCNTs Nano-composites

Abstract
Nano-composites of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) loaded cuprous oxide(Cu2O) was synthesized using Cu ( Ac) 2 and treated MWCNTs as source precursor. The nano-composites was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction ( XRD) , fourier transform infrared spectroscopy ( FT-IR) , Transmission electron microscope ( TEM). The results showed that Cu2O nanoparticles were deposited uniformly onto the surface of MWCNTs. The mechanism of Cu2O loaded on MWCNTs was discussed. There are two factors that determined the Cu2O effective load. The factors are chemical adsorption center of MWCNTs surface and Cu2+ content. Cu2O load effectively enhance the MWCNTs for NO, gas sensor range and sensitivity.关键词
