摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate antibarterial activity of self-synthesized O-earboxymethyl chitosan ( O-CMC ) . Methods Antibacterial rates were calculated by colony counting. Effects of different positions of the raboxymethyl group, different concentrations and pH of O-CMC on antibacterial activity were compared. Results The antimicrobial test demonstrated that the antibacterial activities of O-CMC were better than those of N, O-CMC or N-CMC. The antibacterial activities of O-CMC increased with concentration and decreased with pH over a ceitain range. It was also found that O-CMC showed stronger antibacterial activities against gram-positive bacteria than against gram-negative bacteria. Conclusion The synthesized O-CMC possesses a broad-spectrum antibacterial property.
