普通X线平片和CT在诊断颅面骨骨纤维异常增生症的价值比较
Comparative study of conventional X-ray and CT for diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia of craniofacial bones

Abstract
Objective To analyze the conventional X-ray and CT features of fibrous dysplasia of craniofacial bones (FDB) and compare the diagnostic value of the two examination methods. Methods Ten cases of fibrous dysplasia of craniofacial bones proved by surgery and pathology were examined with conventional X-ray. Of them, 4 cases were also studied with CT. The X-ray radiological findings of these ten patients were evaluated and compared with CT retrospectively. Results Of the 10 cases of FDB, 4 were of single bone type and 6 were of multiple bone type. The lesions were classified into dense, ground glass, cystic and mixed types according to their radiological manifestations. Of the 4 patients taking both the X-ray and CT examination, 1 case was coincided neighter in the location type of lesion, 2 were coincided in location but not in type of lesion, and 1 was not coincided neighter in the location nor in type of lesion. Evidently CT was more accurate and more valuable than ordinary X-ray. Conclusions Conventional X-ray could diagnose fibrous dysplasia of craniofacial bones, yet CT imaging has greater diagnostic value for the localization of multiple bone type FDB and more accurate classification of type of lesion because of its high resolution. Therefore CT is more conductive to distinguish it from ossifying fibroma.关键词
