Impacts of Inductive Filtering on Short-Circuit Reactance of Novel Converter Transformer

Abstract
To answer whether the induction filtering technology impacted on the short-circuit reactance, firstly introduced the connection scheme of the DC transmission system and the basic principles of the induction filtering technology. Then, it outlined the role of short-circuit reactance of the converter transformer in DC transmission when short-circuit fault happened and deduced the method that could judge whether the short-circuit reactance of the converter transformer changed. On the basis, through theoretical and simulation calculation, it researched the change of the short-circuit reactance of the converter transformer before and after filtering. Results showed that the inductive filtering has little impacts on the short-circuit reactance of the novel converter transformer, which can be neglected. It not only can improve the commutation characteristic but also will not deteriorate the short-circuit characteristic, which overcomes the shortcomings in the traditional DC transmission system and indicates that the novel converter transformer has unique advantages to apply to the DC transmission system.关键词
