Perioperative nursing care for arthroscopic disc repositioning and suturing technique for internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint

Abstract
Objective To study the perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing arthroscopic disc repositioning and suturing technique for internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint. Methods The perioperative nursing care in 13 patients (18 joints) with disc displacement without reduction undergoing the TMJ arthroscopic suturing from October 2010 through March 2003 were summarized. Results None of the 13 patients was observed with major postoperative complications. A follow-up of 3 to 12 months showed that all the operative wound had a good recovery. Postoperative MRIs for all 13 patients (18 joints) confirmed that disc repositioning and suturing were good. Conclusion It plays an vital role in postoperative effects in the patients to skillfully master the nursing key points of arthroscopic disc repositioning and suturing technique combined with intensive perioperative psychological nursing, especially correct guidance in patients with postoperative rehabilitation training.关键词
