Clinical Analysis of Pregnancy and Obstetric Outcome of Pregnant Women with Epilepsy

Abstract
Objective: Our aim was to analyze the pregnancy complications and obstetric outcomes of pregnant women with epilepsy. Methods: Eighty-five pregnant women with epilepsy (epilepsy group) and one hundred and seventy healthy pregnant women (normal group) were enrolled. All complications during pregnancy and obstetric outcomes of the two groups were documented and analyzed. Results: The incidence rates of spontaneous abortions, pregnancy-induced hypertension, peripartum seizures and pregnancy depression in the epilepsy group were significantly higher than those in the normal group (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in the obstetric outcomes in the two groups. Conclusion: Epilepsy causes increased incidence of some pregnancy complications, but has less influence on the obstetric outcomes.关键词
