Imaging manifestations of carotid body tumor and their causes
摘要
Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the imaging manifestations of carotid body tumor (CBT) and their causes. Method:We retrospectively analyzed the imaging data of 12 cases of CBT (in 13 sides). Result:The imaging characteristics of CBT were as follows: abundance of blood vessels and multiple sources of blood supply; encapsulating the carotid and making it thinner and the blood flow faster; pushing the carotid to the outer side and increasing the distance between the external and internal carotids. Conclusion: The imaging characteristics of CBT are associated with its pathogenesis, location and anatomic environment.
