Effect Evaluation of Dexmedetomidine in Anaesthetic Sedation

Abstract
Objective To evaluate effect of Dexmedetomidine in anaesthetic sedation. Methods Randomized controlled trials ( RCT) of dexmedetomidine sedation during January 2000 and January 2012 were searched from PubMed, Coehrane Database of Systematic Reviews, EMBASE, CNKI and Wanfang Data. Reference documents of screening were retrieved too, and investigative methodologies were evaluated. Meta analyses of RCTs which met the quality standards were performed by Rev Man 5.0 software. Results Five RCTs with 284 patients enrolled in the study were divided into therapy group (n - 150) with dexmedetomidine intervention and control group (n = 134) with midazolam or propofol intervention. The effect of anaesthetic sedation in therapy group was significantly better than that of control group [ RR =2. 04, 95% CI( 1.04,3. 99) ] ; incidence of delirium or other adverse reactions in therapy group were significantly lower than those in control group [ RR =0. 33, 95% CI (0. 13 ,0. 85 ); RR = 0.43, 95% CI ( 0. 20,0. 93 ) ]. Conclusion Dexmedetomidine may significantly improve the efficacy of sedation than those of traditional sedatives, and it is safe with little adverse reaction.关键词
