Abstract
Objective: To describe the cognition level of the tumor caregivers to the risk factors of fall and to provide an evi dence to reinforce the management of patient safety. Methods: Questionnaire survey method was used. The data of the cognition level to the fall risk factors of 98 tumor inpatients' care givers were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Among the risk factors of fall, "tak ing special medicine" /'accepting special treatment"and "change posture swiftly" got the highest score. There were significant differ ences among the caregivers with different education background and health education experience of patient safety ( P < 0. 05 ) . 79. 6% of the caregivers had the score of importance of fall preventing knowledge equal or higher than seventy seven point six perceont of the care givers ' requirement for fall preventing knowledge score was equal or higher than 3. Lecture was the caregivers' first choice of accepting health education about patient safety. Half of the caregivers hoped accepting patient safety education at the time of admission or during the hospitalization of patients. Conclusion: The cognition level of the tumor patients' caregivers to fall risk factors especially medical treatment factors is low. There is a great need to enforce the education about fall preventing among caregivers based on the patients' needs and their individual characteristics.关键词
