An Experimental Study of Wind Erosion Wind Tunnel Simulation on the Black Soil in Northeast China

Abstract

Arable land in the northeast black soil region of China has loose soil structure and low anti-erosion ability, thus easily leading to wind erosion under the windy weather. In this study, the wind tunnel simulation test was carried out to investigate the characteristics of the influences of wind erosion dominant factors on aeolian-sand flow structure and wind-erosion amount during the wind erosion process in black soil farmland of Tuquan county in the northeast black soil region of China. According to the experimental results, wind speed profile in aeolian-sand flow of black soil showed logarithmic distribution, the influences of soil particle movement in aeolian-sand flow on wind speed were mainly concentrated within the height of 80 mm, the content of wind erosion matter in the aeolian-sand flow section of black soil was decreased exponentially with the increase of height, the aeolian-sand flow height of black soil increased logarithmically with the increase of wind speed, wind-erosion amount of the black soil increased exponentially with the increase of wind speed. Furthermore, the moisture content of wind-erosion critical topsoiKsoil within a depth of 2 cm) was 7%, earth surface with topsoil moisture content above 7% was difficult to lead to wind erosion, wind-erosion amount and topsoil moisture content were consistent with the logarithmic distribution within the range of critical soil moisture content, wind erosion intensity of black soil increased exponentially with the increase of wind speed.
