Development and application of physical model test device showing evolution process of the reverse fault

Abstract
Directing at the flaws of geological structure model test device, on the basis of studying the advantages and disadvantages of model test device at home and abroad, according to select appropriate similarity criterion and establish similarity ratio, physical model test device showing evolution process of the reverse fault is developed. This device is simple and easy to use with flexible assembly; therefore it can simulate geological formations with different sizes. This device has three major components; model box, loading system and counterforce device, data measurement system. And using electro-hydraulic servo loading system, this test device uses the data acquisition system for real-time data measurement. The test results show that the developed test device system is stable and reliable. It not only reproduce the evolution process of reverse fault, but also realize real-time measurements of the geological evolution of the tectonic stress and deformation, which provides a new model test method and a research tool for the quantitative study of the geological processes and tectonic stress measurement.关键词
