摘要

Abstract

Finite element analysis is an effective method which can be used to study metal machining mechanism. This paper makes a study of several key finite element techniques such as cutting model, constitutive model, friction model and chip separation and simulates the orthogonal cutting process of AISI4340 alloy material by the use of finite element software ABAQUS and then analyzes its stress, strain, temperature and cutting force.lt proves that the constructed finite element model is reasonable.
