Effects of salvianolic acid B on lung epithelial cell apoptosis and acute lung injury

Abstract
Aim To explore the effects of salvianolic acid B on apoptosis of lung epithelial cell and acute lung injury.Methods Apoptotic rates of lung epithelial cells were measured by Hoechst staining and flow cytometry.Lipopolysaccharides ( LPS ) was used to establish acute lung injury model of mice.Results Pre-treatment with salvianolic acid B decreased the apoptosis of NCI-H292 cells induced by H2O2 in a concentration-dependent manner, which was measured by Hoechst staining.Compared with the model group, salvianolic acid B concentration-dependently suppressed the apoptosis of NCI-H292 cells measured by flow cytometry.In vivo, pretreatment with salvianolic acid B by intravenous injection dose-dependently inhibited accumulation of neutrophils and macrophages in lung induced by LPS in mice.Conclusions Salvianolic acid B has significant anti-apoptotic and anti-inflammatory effects both in vitro and in vivo.These results help to further study the mechanism of action for lung inflammation.关键词
