Abstract

Introduced are the pore types and pore structure characteristics of volcanic reservoir. Because the volcanic reservoir porosity consists of matrix porosity, fracture porosity and non-connected holes porosity, triple porosity model is used to describe the reservoir porosity. On account of complex mineral constituent of the reservoir, its matrix parameters are achieved from Elemental Capture Spectrum logging (ECS). Different porosities are achieved from conduction difference of dual lateral logging and three-porosity well logging. Then porosity exponent of triple porosity model is obtained, and water saturation is gained by using Archie equation and varied porosity exponent is used to evaluate the reservoir. Practical application in 3 wells of the reservoir in Songliao basin shows that water saturation computed by this method coincides with the gas testing result.
