Abstract
Objective To investigate the influence of different operation timing for humerus cubitus varus after supracondylar fracture. Methods 72 humerus cubitus varus patients after supracondylar fracture were selected in our hospital, patients were divided into A, B, C three groups according to different operation timing. For A group, surgery was performed within 1 year after trauma,B group within 2 years,C group after 2 years. The earring angle,turn Angle, range of motion and joint function recovery were compared before and after surgery between three groups. Results All 72 patients were followed up for 6～24 (14. 2 ± 2. 3) months. The osteotomies were all healed within average (12. 2 ± 1. 4) weeks. The postoperative range of motion in group A and B was statistically significant different from preoperative and group C (P < 0. 05 ) . Comparing the joint function of three groups, the excellent rate of group A was 95. 8% (23/24), group B 91.6% (22/24), which was significantly higher than group C 66.7% (16/24), the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusions Early operation is good for restoration of the elbow functions for the humerus cubitus varus patients.
