Influence of Microwave Hydrothermal Duration on Morphology and Visible-light Photocatalytic Property of Bi2MoO6 Crystallites

摘要

Abstract

The orthorhombic sheet Bi2MoO6 crystallites were prepared by a microwave hydrothermal method. The phase, morphology and optical properties of the as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, respectively. The effect of reaction time on the photocatalytic activity of the prepared samples was investigated. The results show that the Bi2MoO6 crystallites can be obtained at the reaction temperature of 160 ℃ for 10min, and the size of the Bi2MoO6 crystallites sheet increases with the increase of the microwave hydrothermal duration, and the Bi2MoO6 crystallites exhibited a certain absorption in visible-light. Under the 1 kW Xe lamp irradiation, the Bi2MoO6 crystallites synthesized at 160 ℃ for 60min, the degradation rate for rhodaminc B within 160 min reached 99%, showing superior visible- light photocatalytic properties.
