Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical features of brain damage caused by electrical injury and effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Methods Clinical data of 5 patients with brain damage caused by electical injury were analysed retrospectively. Results All of the five patients were injuried by alternating current. The 1 case had traumatic brain injury afer falling down from high place, 4 cases had cardiac arrest and got cardiopulmonary resuscitation. All of them were unconscious. The 2 cases had coma with GCS 5-6 scores, and 3 cases were persitent vegetative slate. In all of them, the levels of alanine aminotransferase, creatine kinase and lactale dehydrogenase were increased. EEG of 4 patients were showed widely slow waves. MRI showed long T2 signal in cortex and subcortical structures in 4 cases; and 1 case normal. Six month later after conventional therapy and hyperbaric oxygenation, 4 cases recoverd conscious with cognitive injury, 1 case was minimally conscious state. Conclusion Unconsciousness caused by electical brain injury is serious, and cognitive injury is common. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has significant effects on its prognosis.关键词
