Transcranial Injection of Ethanol for Establishing Brain Injury Model in Rat

Abstract
Objective To establish a stable rat model of brain injury. Methods Ten Rats were transcranially injected with ethanol. Results The success rate of rat brain injury model is 100%, and 10 sham-operated rats survived too. After four weeks experimental group and sham group was no significant difference in body weight and daily food intake. (376.1 ± 11.5 g vs 353.2 ± 10.3 g; P=1.534); (23.4 ± 3.1 g vs 19.8 ± 2.3 g; P=0.723). By brain magnetic resonance imaging, pathology HE staining, and brain tissue slices TTC staining can confirm modeling success. Conclusion Transcranial injection of ethanol to establish rat brain injury model is simple. Success rate is higher than traditional methods. A solid foundation is established for further studies on brain injury.关键词
