Effect of Problem-based Learning on Medical Education Environment in General Medicine

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of problem - based learning ( PBL ) on medical education environment in general medicine. Methods A total of 60 students were randomly assigned to the lecture based learning ( LBL ) group ( n = 30 ) and PBL group ( n =30 ) . The DREEM ( Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure ) was used to investigate the students' recognition of the medical education environment. SPSS software was used for statistical analysis. Results The total DREEM score of the PBL group was ( 145. 2 ± 21. 4 ), and that of the control group was ( 136. 2 ± 10. 6 ), with a significant difference between the two groups ( P < 0. 05 ) . The learning perception score of the PBL group was ( 30. 7 ± 4. 6 ), and that of the control group was ( 28. 0 ±2. 8 ), with a significant difference between the two groups ( P < 0. 05 ) . The teachers' perception score of the PBL group was ( 36. 6 ± 4. 4 ), and that of the control group was ( 34. 5 ± 2. 3 ), with a significant difference between the two groups ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion Problem - based learning can improve the medical education environment effectively in general medicine.关键词
