甜瓜种质资源果实若干数量性状评价指标探讨
Evaluating criteria of some botanical quantitative characters of fruits in melon genetic resources

Abstract
[Objective]This study was to establish evaluating criteria and reference cultivars of certain botanical quantitative characters of melon genetic resources, which facilitate the information exchange of domestic and foreign researchers and melon cultivar introduction. [Method]Data of nine quantitative characteristics of melon (Cucumis melon L. Sp. pl. 1753. p1011), which is in National Mid-term Genebank for watermelon & Melon, were analyzed by using spss.17.0 and the characters of frequency distribution histogram was drawn. Classification of the nine quantitative characters was according to the criteria of International Union for The Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV), and the reference cultivars were selected. [Result]The coefficient variation of fruit weight was largest, with 74.3%; and that of fruit cavity width was smallest, with 30.5%. Soluble solid content of fruit flesh and fruit cavity ratio data was normal distribution, while the other quantitative characteristics data was skewed normal distribution. The maximum skewness was found in fruit length (2.43) and the minimum was found in 1000-seed weight (1.01). Fruit cavity ratio characteristics were divided into 3 grades. Grade 2 was the intermediate level and the distribution frequency was more than 50%. The other eight quantitative characters were divided into 5 grades. Grade 3 was the intermediate level. Three reference cultivars were selected for each characters of each grade,one foreign cultivar and two Chinese cultivars,except extreme characters. [Conclusion] The evaluating criteria and reference cultivars of certain botanical quantitative characters of melon genetic resources was established.关键词
