Abstract

Elasto-plastic time history analysis is necessary for complex high-rise structure to verify the Chinese code requirements of no collapse under rare earthquakes. A super high-rise structure in this paper has complex structural layout and its height is beyond limitation set by Chinese codes. In order to study its seismic behaviors , nonlinear time history analysis was conducted. In this paper, a model was built with NosaCAD and Perform-3D in order to study the stress state and deformation capacity of the structure under the rare intensity 7 earthquake by using the elasto-plastic time history analysis method. By comparing the overall responses and component damage of the structure under frequency and the rare intensity 7 earthquake, it is indicated that the results are consistent between Perform-3D and NosaC AD and the structure can meet the code requirements of no collapse under rare earthquakes.
