Seismic Test and Analysis of Embedded Steel Plate Concrete Shear Walls in the Exterior Bay of a Concrete Filled Square Steel Tube Column Frame

Abstract
A series of tests were conducted on shear wall members in the exterior bay of a concrete filled square steel tube column (CFST) frame, which includes 3 specimens of the steel plate shear wall and 3 specimens of the embedded steel plate concrete shear wall. Testing results, including mechanical characteristics and load bearing capacities of these two kinds of shear walls, were analyzed. FEM simulation was implemented by using the software ABAQUS. The results of FEM simulation agree well with those from the experiments. The results show that the steel plate shear wall with CFST columns has good ductility. Compared with the steel plate shear wall with CFST columns, the load bearing capacity and the stiffness of the embedded steel plate concrete shear wall are improved and therefore, seismic performances of these specimens are better.关键词
