摘要

Abstract

In order to study the compressive capacity and compression-bending capacity of stainless steel truss columns and the flexural capacity of stainless steel truss beams for an engineering project, six stainless steel truss columns and three stainless steel truss beams were designed and tested. Based on the analysis of failure modes, load-displacement curves, load-strain curves and other experimental results, the mechanical behaviors , failure modes and major influential elements associated with the bearing capacity of columns and beams were analyzed. Experiment results indicate that the failure modes are all out-of-plane buckling of the compression-bearing straight rods without material failure and stainless steels show nonlinear behavior, high strength and well ductility. This study provides experimental basis for the practical application of this kind of stainless steel columns and beams and it can be used as references for the application of stainless steels as the structural materials.
