Abstract
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and chronic prostatitis (CP). Methods: TURP were performed under spinal anesthesia in 67 cases of BPH and CP. All patients were administratered α - receptor blockers 6 weeks peroperatively and 6 weeks postoperatively. Catheters were removed 2- 4 days postoperation. Results: All patients underwent TURP successfully, and there was no serious complications. Postoperative histological examination proved benign prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis in all cases. Four cases had postoperative dysuria after catheter removal, after urethral catheterization for 1 week catheters were removed successfully. After 3 months follow - up, the international prostatic symptom score (I- PSS) and National Institutes of Health chronic prostatitis symptom index (NIH - CPST) decreased and the maximum urinary flow rate increased. Conclusions: It should be paid more attention to CP treatment for the patients with BPH and CP.关键词
