Health Risk Assessment of Heavy Metals Pollution in Liujiang River

摘要

Abstract

The heavy metal concentration in Liujiang River was detected.The health risk assessment model recommended by US EPA was adopted to evaluate.The results showed that,the average concentration of heavy metals in Liujiang is:Cd 0.100 0-2.400 0 μg/L,As 0-0.004 0 μg/L,Cr 0.208 0-1.703 0 μg/L,Cu 0.882 0-10.702 0 μg/L,Hg 0-0.001 4 μg/L,Pb 0.035 0-20.609 0 μg/L.The most dangerous heavy metal to cause cancer in Liujiang River is Cd,the highest cancer-causing value is in Liuzhou section,up to 110.16 × 10-6/a,beyond the member of the International Radiation Protection (ICRP) and the American Environmental Protection (US EPA) recommended value (5 × 10-5 and 1 × 10-6/a).Heavy metal Pb,Cu,Hg health risk average concentration are in 1 × 10-11-1 × 10-10/a,reached the US EPA acceptable risk level (1 × 10-6/a).
