摘要

Abstract

To study the characters of pressure wave in the process of typical small-caliber bullet penetrating gelatin.the test of gelatin target was carried out. The temperature of gelatin target is 4℃ ;the concentration is 10% ;the size is 30 cm× 30 cm × 30 cm. By means of the high-speed photography system and pressure test system of synchronization,the characteristics of pressure wave produced in the penetrating process were researched. The high speed photography and pressure curves of 5. 56 mm bullet penetrating gelatin at 100 m range were presented. The pressure wave characteristics of small-caliber bullet penetrating gelatin were revealed. The result shows that the peak pressure wave and transient cavities are caused by the projectile's instability and releasing energy in the process of penetrating gelatin with high velocity. This peak pressure wave plays an important role on the human body injury. The contraction and expansion of cavity produce the peak value of pulse pressure.
