摘要

Abstract

The antifriction and antiwear performance of attapulgite powder as an antifiiction and repairing material for steel-steel frictional pair was investigated by a friction and wear tester.The morphology and elemental composition of worn surfaces were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometry,respectively.The width and volume of grinding crack were measured by the three dimensional profile measuring apparatus.The antifriction and repairing mechanism of attapulgite powder as a lubrcant in oils was discussed.The result shows that attapulgite can reduce the friction coefficient of the steel-steel pair when the addition of attapulgite is > 0.5% (in mass).Attapulgite exhibited the optimal antifriction and antiwear properties at the addition of 1.0% (in mass).A smooth repairing layer could be formed on worn steel surface due to tribochemical reactions,consequently improving the tribological property of the steel-steel frictional pair.
