Abstract

[Objective]Climate adaptability of pineapple was assayed to screen out the pineapple varieties suitable for intercropping in young rubber plantation.[Method]Randomdized block design was applied in introduction tests of pineapple cultivars No.8,Dongmi,Golden pineapple and Mibao.Growth duration was observed before harvest and fruit yield and quality were measured after harvest.[Result]After intercropping with young rubber plantation in Yunnan province,the tested four cultivars displayed good growth adaptability and fruiting habits.The bud rate of No.8 was 29.84%,which was remarkably higher than that of the other three cultivars.The fruit shape indexes of No.8,Dongmi,Golden pineapple and Mibao were 1.33,1.13,1.13 and 1.11,respectively,which indicated that No.8 had the best fruit shape.The core widthes of No.8,Dongmi,Golden pineapple and Mibao were 1.43,1.82,2.08 and 1.56 cm,respectively,in which core width of Golden pineapple was the biggest and significant different from that of No.8 and Mibao.Total soluble sugar content was in order of No.8 (12.97%)>Golden pineapple (10.54%)>Dongmi (10.23%)> Mibao (9.84%).[Conclusion]No.8,Golden pineapple and Mibao could be extended in Yunnan province as fresh fruit species.
