Abstract

Focusing on the problem of the influencing factors for sludge dewatering performance being unsolved currently,the research studied the effects of the MLVSS/MLSS,proteins/ polysaccharides,content of proteins,content of polysaccharides and the total content of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) on the sludge dewatering performance,by extracting and examining the EPS under the seven working conditions of the SBR and by adopting the SPSS software analysis.The results indicate that the MLVSS/MLSS,proteins/polysaccharides are the key factors that influence the sludge dewatering performance,the impact models of the water content of the dewatered sludge and the bound-water content of sludge were also established:the water content of the dewatered sludge =0.229 × (MLVSS/MLSS) + 0.023 × (proteins/ polysaccharides) + 0.539,the boundwater content of sludge =2.876 × (MLVSS/MLSS) + 0.335 × (proteins/ polysaccharides)-0.012.After comparing the sludge dewatering performance examined in seven city sewage plants,the data reveal that the relative errors of the water content of the dewatered sludge and the bound-water content of sludge are ± 1% and ±5%,respectively,having an effective influence on the sludge dewatering performance forecast.
