摘要

Abstract

Connection beams are the first line defense system in super high-rise buildings against earthquakes.They are the key inelastic energy dissipation components because of their ability of dissipating earthquake energy.In super high-rise building design,there are sometimes problems with connection beam shear capacity.Usually," Ⅰ" shape steel are added into the reinforced concrete beam.However,this additional steel reinforcement also increases the connection beam bending capacity.It therefore affects connection beam failure mode and analysis of an entire structural system.In this paper,based on the PERFORM-3D,connection beams in a super high-rise building were studied for damage mechanism under rarely occured earthquakes.Based on the results,a solution to solve the poor shear capacity of the connection beam was proposed.
