Effect of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) on Pig Cumulus Cell Expansion and Oocyte in vitro Maturation
摘要
Abstract
The aim of this work is to assess the effect of nerve growth factor on pig cumulus expansion and in vitro maturation (IVM) of pig oocytes.The degree of cumulus expansion was assessed directly under light microscope while nuclear maturation was assessed in terms of orcein staining.The results showed that NGF could not stimulate expansion of cumulus cells.Compared with oocytes in control group,oocytes stimulated with NGF alone were more likely to stay at GV phase,although the percentage of oocytes that had reached metaphase Ⅱ phase was not significantly different.Nevertheless,oocytes stimulated with NGF combined with gonadotrophins (equine chorionic gonadotropin and human chorionic gonadotropin) were more likely to reach metaphase Ⅱ phase compared with those stimulated with gonadotrophins alone.关键词
