Abstract

Naproxen as an anti-inflammatory agent,was widely used in human's daily life and was released into the water environment with a large amount,which is harmful to the aquatic lives.Naproxen removal efficiency in two types of biological activated filter bed(BAFB) which adopted three kinds of packing were researched.The hydraulic loading rate (HLR) of the BAFB was 0.1 m3/(m2·d) and the concentrations of Naproxen in the influent was between 1 149.7~1 652.9 μg/L with an average concentrations of 1 523.3 μg/L.The results show the steam brick horizonal flow BAFB has the best removal efficiency with 49.61%.BAFB can become an effective process for Naproxen treatment when suitable packing and type are chosen.
