Crystallization behavior of poly (vinylidene fluoride) in ethanol at different temperatures

Abstract
The crystallization of poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) in ethanol was carried out by dropping PVDF N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) solution into a large amount of non-solvent ethanol.The influences of temperature on PVDF crystallization phase,morphology and thermal behavior were investigated.Sample performance was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR),X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).The results showed that PVDF crystallized in α andβ3 phases,and the relative fraction of α phase increased with the increasing crystallization temperature.A large quantity of minute adhesive flakes or spheres structures were observed from sample surface.In fact,these structures were imperfect primary crystals of PVDF.The crystallized PVDF at different temperatures had similar melting curves,while it had a lower degree of crystallinity at higher temperature.关键词
