Study on Membrane Fouling Characteristics and Control in Sequencing Batch Membrane Bioreactor

Abstract
The critical flux was measured at five different mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) concentrations and three different aeration intensities at each MLSS concentration,and the characteristics of membrane fouling behavior and its control were studied under a certain condition in a submerged sequencing batch membrane bioreactor.The result indicated that the critical flux decreased with increasing MLSS concentrations.When MLSS concentrations were in a certain range,increasing the aeration intensity can increase the critical flux.Under the conditions of MLSS concentration at 8 000 mg · L-1,aeration intensity at 0.3 m3 · h-1 and effluent flux at 15 L · m-2 · h-1,the membrane fouling increased slowly and constantly at the rate of 0.126 KPa · d.The phenomenon of TMP rising rapidly was not observed.Dosing PAC slowed down membrane fouling efficiently.关键词
