Abstract
Objective Comparison of immuno-gold method and direct immunofluorescence to detect respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Methods 350 cases of nasopharynx swabs of pediatric patients were detected by immuno-gold method and direct immunofluorescence. Results 173 cases were positive in 350 cases by direct immunofluorescence assay. The rate of positive was 49. 4% by direct immunofluorescence assay. 121 cases were positive by immuno-gold assay. The rate of positive was 49. 4% by immuno-gold assay. There was very significant difference between immuno-gold method and direct immunofluo-rescence. The sensitivity of the immuno-gold method was only 69. 9% of the direct immunofluorescence. Both had the same specificity. Conclusion The immuno-gold method is simpler and more rapid than the direct immunofluorescence method,but it's sensitivity was lower than the latter. Both had the same specificity. Immuno-gold method can be used as the detection of respiratory syncytial virus in out-patient test and primary hospitals.关键词
