Expression and significance of lymphoid enhancer factor-1 and Jagged1 in human colorectal carcinoma
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the expression and significance of lymphoid enhancer factor-1 (LEF1) and Jaggedl in tissues of human colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Methods SP immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of LEF1 and Jaggedl in 184 human CRC specimens and 184 matched paratumorous normal colorectal specimens. The correlation of LEF1 and Jaggedl expressions with clinicopathological variables of CRC was analyzed. Results Increased expressions of LEF1 and Jaggedl were found in human CRC specimens compared with matched paratumorous normal specimens (P<0.001); the positive rates were 68.5% and 65.8%, respectively. LEF1 expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage (P<0.05). Meanwhile, Jaggedl expression was significantly associated with tumor cell differentiation, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and TNM stage (P<0. 05). Significant positive correlation was found between LEF1 expression and Jaggedl expression in CRC (r = 0.373, P<0.001). Conclusion The overexpressions of LEF1 and Jaggedl are closely correlated with carcinogenesis, progression and metastasis of CRC, which suggests that the positive expressions of LEF1 and Jaggedl may be of some value in the early diagnosis and prognosis of human CRC.关键词
