Abstract
Objective We aimed to analysis the clinical safety and feasibility of Botulinum Toxin Type A for facial spasm,evaluate the feasibility of chronic repeated treatment.Methods We enrolled 53 patients with facial spasm who hospitalization in our hospital from september 2009 to may 2012,of which 28 patients for first treatment,25 patients for repeated treatment,all the patients were followed up.Observed and compared the efficacy,duration of efficacy and adverse reactions of two groups.Results The total effective rate was 100％ and the efficacy duration was (4.98±1.05)months in repeated treatment group,six patients have adverse reactions.Comparing with initial treatment group,there was no significant difference (P＞0.05).Conclusions Repeated treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A for facial spasm are proved to be a safe and effective therapy,which will not affect treatment outcome.关键词
