Correlation between Cotton Boll Shell Weight and Yield and Quality Traits among Different Cotton Varieties

Abstract
Correlation between cotton boll shell weight and 7 yield traits and 6 quality traits was analyzed with 18 non-Bt upland cotton varieties as materials,and the cluster analysis was made.The results showed that the extreme significant positive correlation existed between cotton boll shell weight and cotton boll weight,significant positive correlation existed between cotton boll shell weight and seed cotton weight per boll,lint index and uniformity index,and significant negative correlation existed between cotton boll shell weight and elongation percentage.And there was no significant correlation between cotton boll shell weight and lint yield and fiber quality synthesis score.The lighter cotton boll shell weight was advantageous to improvement of lint yield and fiber quality.关键词
