Abstract

The effects of the complex of monoethanolamine and alkaline additives(H,N-M and 2-t-B) on the thermal stability of sulfolane were investigated using the release amount of SO2 as the evaluating indicator.The results show that under the optimal reaction conditions of sulfolane dosage 100 g,nitrogen flowrate 80 mL/min,reaction temperature 230 ℃,reaction time 2 h and additive monoethanolamine dosage 0.04%(based on the mass of sulfolane),the additive reveals a good inhibitory effect with the release amount of SO2 16.48 mg.The complex additives are better than the single monoethanolamine in restraining sulfolane thermal decomposition.The influence order of the additives on the thermal stability of sulfolane is monoethanolamine>H>N-M>2-t-B.When the dosages ofmonoethanolamine,H,2-t-B and N-M are 0.03%,0.06%,0.10% and 0.06%(based on the mass of sulfolane) respectively,the inhibitory effect is optimum with the release amount of SO2 5.49 mg.
