摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between metabolic syndrome (MS) and hyperuricemia in community elderly males.Methods 160 elderly males with MS were divided into 2 groups according to their serum uric acid levels.The body mass index (BMI),waist line,systolic and diastolic pressure (SBP,DBP),blood glucose (FPG,2hPG),lipid levels and comorbilities were compared.Results BMI,waist line,DBP,2hPG and serum triglyceride(TG) were higher in cases with hyperuricemia than those with normal serum uric acid (P＜0.05).The hyperuricemia group had higher proportion with coronary heart disease than the normal-uricemia group (OR=2.0600,P＜0.05).Conclusion Hyperuricemia is correlated to metabolic syndrome in elderly males.Metabolic syndrome in elderly males with hyperuricemia increases risk of cardiovascular disease.Community intervention should be put on these cases.关键词
