Development of Electrical-thermal Aging Experimental Setup for Cable Accessories Under High Voltage and Large Current

Abstract
Cable accessories are often subjected to the electrical and thermal stresses simultaneously in the operation of power system.Traditionalel ectrical-thermal aging experimental devices cannot well simulate the electrical-thermal cooperative effects.An aging experimental setup under high voltage and high current was designed to simulate the electrical-thermal aging condition of the cable accessory in power system.The current loop of the experimental setup is composed of cable accessories and connection cables.Power frequency high voltage generated by a test transformer is applied to specimens and high current about 250 A generated by CT flows through the loop.Compared with other thermal aging systems,heat of the aging system is originated from heat effect of electric current.A power frequency voltage withstand test was successfully performed for the experimental setup under rated current.Moreover,the magnetic field around CT was analyzed by Finite Element Method(FEM).Based on the results,theoretical values for the current generated in the loop can be calculated to investigate the relationships between induced current and parameters of CT.The experimental setup provides a new reference method for cable accessories electrical and thermal stress aging.关键词
