Abstract
Objective To investigate whether the self-ligating brackets could alleviate the initial pain of patients.Methods 62 orthodontic patients were divided into 2 groups (smart clip self-ligating brackets and conventional straight wire bracket).After wearing appliance and 0.34mm NiTi wire questionnaires for 7 days,were sent to record the change of pain degree.The visual analogue scale method (VAS method) was used to analyze the results.Results Both two groups felt pain and the peak period was between first and second days after the first wire.Then the pain gradually reduced and after 7 days,most patients did not feel pain,and there was no significant difference between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).But the degree of pain appeared significantly different (P ＜ 0.01),and the self-ligating brackets group was obviously less than conventional straight wire bracket group.Conclusion Self-ligating brackets could reduce the pain in a certain degree.关键词
