Priming Effects on Aggressive Behavior

Abstract
Objective:To explore the priming effects of different priming types on aggressive behaviors of undergraduates with different gender.Methods:A sample of 161 undergraduates were explored the effects of exemplar priming (King Shang Zhou),category priming (tyrant),and no priming on the aggressive behaviors of males and females with a 3×2 between-subject experimental design.Results:①Males showed higher aggressive behavior level than females did.② As compared with the control group,male participants primed with the exemplar King Shang Zhou showed lower aggressive behavior level,with a contrast effect,and so did female participants primed with the category tyrant.Conclusion:Different priming types have different effects on aggressive behaviors of undergraduates with different gender.关键词
