Research Summary and Prospect of Community Participation in Tourism Development
摘要
Abstract
Development of tourism has changed the regional structure of the destination; in turn,the local communities as direct stakeholders profoundly affect the realization of sustainable tourism and has become an important force in determining the speed and quality of the tourist industrialization.Community paaicipation in sustainable development of tourism is an important path for regional sustainable development of tourist destination,and becomes the hot area of academic research in recent years.Based on the comprehensive and systematic summary of research fruits at home and abroad over the past decades in this field,the authors distinguish a variety of perspectives and insights on the basis of concerns about the evolution of the role and position of the community,tease out the differences and disparities between foreign and Chinese researches,especially highlight different researchers' conflicting views in the same proposition,and describe the complex game relations between community participation and tourism development.It is pointed out that western scholars mainly carry out research from following aspects including the nature and content of community participation in tourism development,the relationship with regional sustainable development,the comparison of different types of community participation,and the governance structure optimization.Chinese scholars focus on these study propositions such as the concept and interpretation of community participation in tourism development,the practical significance,the business models and existing problems as well as the thorough analysis from multi-angle theories.It is suggested that the conceptual differences and understanding simplification should be avoided in the future,and the actual situation and development evolution should be combined together to conduct an overall academic consideration on the community and other stakeholders.关键词
